The VIOLAR company was founded in 1955 by the Markou brothers in Livadia.

VIOLAR S.A. Is based in Greece and the main industrial activity is in the cotton ginning sector, since 1955 and has a set of modern facilities consisting of management offices, gins, dryers, warehouses and silos.

Quality Control
Our quality control laboratory has been certified by the International Cotton Association BREMEN since 2013.
Quality control is the cornerstone of our processes as both imports and exports of the goods we manage are controlled, certified and categorized before storage or loading through the modern and intensive quality control we apply. In this way we reward our suppliers for quality and at the same time ensure our customers the reliability and homogeneity of the products they buy from us.
The samples from our products are analyzed in the quality control laboratory of the company KON/NOS V. MARKOU ABEE, which is certified by the International Organization ICA VREMEN since 2013 and equipped with an HVI and an AFIS.
With HVI we measure length, strength, uniformity, short fiber index, micronaire, color and trash and with AFIS we measure Neps. HVI is calibrated and tested daily with USDA HVI CALIBRATION samples and operates according to the ITMF (International Textile Manufacturers Federation). It also participates in ICA and BREMEN INSTITUTE interlaboratory tests.
ICA Round Tests results place the laboratory among the top 10 laboratories in the world, since 2007. The laboratory maintains representative samples for our customers, and is also equipped with a sorting room where we prepare representative types of samples to offer to our customers.
